Hello Families of Division 10,

We are in our second week of school together and it has been great getting to know each other better! On Wednesday our class will be going to Suncrest Park next to the school to visit the creek. In order to ensure a successful day at the creek please prepare the following items for your child:

  • Waterproof jacket
  • Waterproof pants (if possible)
  • Change of clothes including spare socks
  • Indoor shoes

We may spend more time outdoors on other days, please ensure your child is wearing the appropriate outdoor clothes every day and that they have a change of clothes left in the classroom.

Thank you,

Ms. Diep

Hello Families of Division 10,

I can't believe this is the last week of our school year! Thank you for your hard work and dedication to learning. I wish you all the best during your summer vacation and I look forward to hopefully seeing you all in September! Please remember to come pick up personal belongings on either Tuesday June 23rd from 3pm – 4pm or Wednesday  June 24th from 8:30am – 3:30pm. Upon arrival please knock and wait outside of our classroom door. Please do not enter the building. If families are comfortable bringing their child with them to put up belongings, I would love the opportunity to say good bye in person. The activities this week are optional and are posted below. I look forward to seeing many of you this week to pick up your belongings.

Activities for the Week of June 22 -25

Hello Families of Division 10,

With the school year coming close to its end, our class will be having one final class meeting on Zoom this Friday June 19th at 10am. We will be using the link sent in the email last week. I hope to see most of you there!

As mentioned in the email, Division 10's belonging pick up date will be Tuesday June 23rd from 3pm - 4pm (students in class that day will get to bring their belongings home with them) and Wednesday June 24th from 8:30am - 3:30pm.

If you cannot attend either of those dates, please email me and we can try to arrange a different time. However, if we can't find a mutual time then you will have to wait until September to get your child's belongings. Belongings that will be returned include personal items such as notebooks, duo tangs, report cards, certificates, etc.)
On the day of the pick up please knock on the outside classroom door and wait for me to hand you the belongings. If you are returning library books they must be returned to the library cart placed at the front doors of the school. If you have any questions or concerns please email me.
A reminder that Father's Day is Sunday June 21, 2020. I have attached some optional activities to surprise any special male figures in your life with.

Hello Families of Division 10,

It was lovely to get to speak with almost all of you over Zoom and to hear about how you have all been doing. Thank you for taking the time to work with me to complete the core competency self-reflection sheet and to get your student voice piece for your summative reports.  I will be scheduling one last class meeting over Zoom in the next week or so, more information about that will be coming your way soon.  This will allow us to say our good byes for the summer and close off our very strange but unique school year. I would also like to remind students and families to please post your core competency self reflection sheet and drawings for the special activity to Freshgrade before June 15, 2020. Below are the activities for the week 🙂

Hello Families of Division 10,

Here are the activities for the week. Please note that activity 104 core competency must be completed. I will be reaching out to families this week to ask to schedule a time to Zoom call with your child so I may help with this activity and to gather a student voice piece for the summative report for this term. As some students will be at the school beginning this week we ask that if you are not registered to return, please do not visit the school to limit the number of foot traffic that passes through the school grounds. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

Hello Families of Division 10,

This week teachers will be collaborating to plan for a positive and engaging return to school for students for the month of June. There are still many questions in the air and we are all working together to try and find appropriate and thoughtful answers/ solutions to ensure a safe return for everyone. I look forward to what the next few weeks may bring.  With all the transition that will soon take place with the return to school. I am sad to say that our last class zoom meet with be on Friday May 29, 2020 at 10am. However, if not all students are able to return to school for the month of June I will try my best to plan for class zoom calls from the school when things are settled. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding with all the change that is happening. As always if you have any questions or concerns please contact me via email.

Hello Families of Division 10,

I hope you have all been well. This is a reminder for tomorrow's Zoom meeting at 10am. Our agenda for tomorrow includes a sharing circle, a drawing activity and a read aloud. I would also like to announce that Mr. B will be joining us, which will be a nice treat to see his face! I look forward to our meeting tomorrow. I would also like to mention that there has been an email sent out today by Ms. Druissi with a survey in regards to students voluntary return to school on June 1, 2020. Please be sure to take the time to fill it out by Monday May 25, 2020. Thank you for your cooperation!

Hello Families of Division 10,

I hope you had a wonderful Victoria Day long weekend. This week we will be moving on from measurement to time. I hope you enjoyed the activities and that you were able to learn some new things. If you would like one final measurement activity that might be fun to do then try to create your own balance scale! Below is a picture of an example scale. Try to balance things in your scale and see what is heavier. If you choose to do this activity please take a picture and post to Freshgrade as I would love to see your creation!

On another note some of you might have heard in the news starting on June 1, 2020 there will be the option for students to voluntarily return to school. More information in regards to this will be shared as soon as it is available. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Below are the activities for the week 🙂

May 11, 2020

Hello Families of Division 10,
I hope this email finds you well. There were just a few things that I would like to share.
1) One family has suggested that some students might like to share gaming information so that they can connect on different platforms. If that is something you are interested in having your child participate in, please fill in as much or as little information as you would like on the Game Names document which was sent via email and I will send it to the families who are interested. Once you have filled in the document please resend it to me.
2) On Friday May 15, 2020 it is a Pro D Day and teachers will be attending online workshops so there will be no virtual class meeting this week, however we will continue on next week. On Monday May 18, 2020 it is Victoria Day so no new activities will be posted Friday or Monday.
3) I would like to thank all families for the amazing work that you are doing at home. I love seeing all the photos and activities being posted. You are all so inspiring during these uncertain times for your positivity and flexibility. I appreciate all work that is submitted on Freshgrade as this will help me greatly when writing summative reports for June.
If you have any questions or concerns, as always I am open to connect. Have a great week and wonderful long weekend.
