    The Colours of the Rainbow

Today’s collage was made by Hayley. Look at all of those little pieces of paper that she used to make each colour. It almost looks like a puzzle. I am very impressed by all of the collages that you are sending. I especially like how each one is different. Today’s story is called Sophie’s Masterpiece. It is written by Eileen Spinelli and illustrated by Jane Dyer. Your ‘just for fun’ video is from David Pilkey. In this video, he teaches you how to draw a flip book.

    Zaid Built a Snowman

Today’s fantastic collage is from Zaid. How many snowmen are in this picture? Remember to count all the tiny ones that Zaid cut up for the collage. Many of you have offered to have your art shared on the blog. You will see them over the next week. I picked a storytime book today about the artist Jackson Pollock. The book is called Action Jackson. It was written by Jan Greenberg and Sandra Jordan and illustrated by Robert Andrew Parker. Maybe if you ask very nicely on a nice day, someone in your family might let you try a little splatter painting of your own outside. If you have time…

    Let’s Look at Lila’s Creation

I had so much fun with the other theme weeks that I thought that I would make this week, Art Week. There is an art activity every day this week. Language Arts, Nature School, and Themes are all connected to art as well. Each day, you will be asked to do some writing about your art. You only need to write a few sentences each day about your art unless you want to write more. Since it is art week, I thought that you might like this book named The Scraps Book: Notes from a Colorful Life. This book is written and illustrated by Lois Ehlert. It is about collage…
