April 22, 2020

If anyone would like some ideas for music activities or projects, Ms. Fletcher has a music blog that she would love to share. Please feel free to explore her blog at  sd41blogs.ca/fletcherp

A friendly reminder that Monday April 27, 2020 is a professional development day so there will be no activities posted as teachers will be attending online workshops.

Activity 26 Litterbug Art

Today is Earth day! To get us thinking about what we can do for our planet and to get us started on the topic begin with the read aloud posted below.

Listen to the story Why Should I Recycle by Jen Green. Think about materials that you can recycle from the story. Are they similar to materials you recycle at home? Think about how you sort your garbage at home and at school? Where does the garbage go?

With some recycling you have at home, re-use some materials and create your own litter bugs. An example is below. Please post your litter bug to FreshGrade.

Activity 27 Earth Day Write

Please pick one of the following options to write about then post it on Freshgrade

Option 1:

  • Think about all the things you love about the Earth
  • Think about ways that you can help the Earth stay healthy
  • Think about the things that you already do to help the Earth
  • Think about why it’s important to recycle

Option 2:

  • Listen to the read aloud Picture the Sky by Barbara Reid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zT1zEkFE5Mk
  • Go outside and look up at the sky
  • Enjoy the fresh air and appreciate how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place
  • Pick one cloud that you like or that makes you think of something and take a picture of it
  • Write about what you saw and some of the things people can do to make sure that the Earth is always protected and clean
