This term in Math we plan to focus on the following Big Ideas from the B.C. Curriculum:

  • Objects and shapes have attributes that can be described, measured, and compared.
  • Concrete graphs help us to compare and interpret data and show one-to-one correspondence.
  • Development of computational fluency in subtraction with numbers to 100 requires an understanding of place value.

Before moving on to new content, I think it is important to review what we have already learned:

patterns (repeating and growing), number sense (place value, 10’s and 1’s, ordering, names in French, skip counting etc), addition and subtraction strategies to 20, addition to 100
