You may have heard that we go to the library on Mondays for story workshop with Ms. Papapanagiotou. What does that look like?
We work with loose parts to inspire our imagination. We have talked about who can be in a story and today we talked about creating the place where a story can happen. In partners or small groups, students agreed on a place and then used the loose parts to create it. At then end, we went around to all groups and they shared their story settings. We had a castle, a house, a beach, a forest, a houe on a mountain and a couple of hounted houses for Halloween.
Part of the Kindergarten and Grade 1 curriculum is creating and sharing stories orally. We will be focusing on the oral language component before moving onto writing stories.
Here are some pictures from the creating and sharing process from today.
