Here we are at another Friday! I hope you all had a great week and have been enjoying the sunshine.
I have titled this post ‘Feel Good Friday’. Fridays can put us in a good mood and make us feel good. But what if we are in a bad mood? When you feel sad, or down, and you have low energy, what do you do to boost your mood? Really think about what helps you elevate your mood. This is a bit different than just what makes you happy. I’m talking about a change in mood.
For example, I could come home tired, stressed, or grumpy and when I put on loud music, my mood changes.
To do – Writing:
#1 What is your go-to for boosting your mood? Explain. (at least 3 sentences)
Choose 1:
A) Here’s a quote I found by someone named Jim Rohn – “Either you run the day or the day runs you” – What do you think he meant by that? Explain
B) Write about a time when you helped someone boost their mood. What did you say? What did you do? How did you know their mood changed?
Math: We are still being told to stay 2 metres or 6 feet away from people not in our immediate families (and maybe a friend or two).
#1 Make a list of all the items you can think of to show what 2 metres looks like. It would be helpful if you had a measuring tape so you could see for yourself how long that is. For example, I saw a picture of someone using a hockey stick to show 2 metres. I’m not sure it is exact but it was a good visual. Get creative, but be reasonable 🙂 Try to come up with at least 5!
#2 Choose one of your items and use it to illustrate people staying 2 metres apart.
#3 If my classroom is 16 metres wide (which it’s not), and I need to space the desks 2 metres apart, how many desks can I put in the classroom? Psst…think repeated addition…or division 🙂
#4 What 3 numbers come next in the pattern:
– 2, 5, 8, ___, ___, ___
– 4, 8, 12, ___, ___, ___
– 10, 21, 32, ___, ___, ___
– 29, 24, 19, ___, ___, ___
*challenge – 3, 7, 15, 31, ___, ___, ___
#5 Time yourself with your 6 timestables. What is your fastest time?
