Happy New Year to all of our families! We hope you thoroughly enjoyed your time to spend together with family and friends.

Welcome back, everyone! We have had a great start back to school today. Tomorrow, we have an exciting field trip to ice skating!

Dates: Tuesday, January 8, 15, and 22, 2019

Time: 10:30 am to 11:30 am (all sessions)

Location: Bill Copeland Sports Complex, 3676 Kensington Avenue, Burnaby

Please dress your child appropriately and bring the following:

• Booster seat
• Skates, if you have
• Helmet, if you have (CSA approved hockey or snow sports helmet); there will only be a limited supply at the rink
• Gloves/mittens
• Wear long socks

Dear families,

We are very proud of the singing and dancing during the Winter Showcase. We hope you enjoyed the entertainment. Thank you so much for your donations to our Some Like It Hot basket and your donations for the door prizes. A special thank you to parents who gave of their time to prepare the baskets, set up, and contributed to make the whole evening a great success, including our talented community band. We are very blessed to have such a generous community!

As we begin our winter holidays, we wish you all the best the season has to offer. We are very grateful for your generous gifts – thank you. The greatest gift has really been working with your wonderful children; they make us smile, bring us much joy, and warm our hearts with the kind and caring behaviours we witness each day.

We are looking forward to starting the new year refreshed and ready to work on our goals, learn new things, and see further growth. Thank you for your continued support at home. Happy Holidays!

On Wednesday, December 19th, at 7:00 pm, we will be celebrating the winter season with a concert! Please arrive at school at 6:30 pm. Please have your child wear holiday outfit, blue or white. 

There will be a dress rehearsal on Tuesday, December 18th at 1:30 pm. This may be a great opportunity to bring your little ones to enjoy the performances.

Dear Families,

Our field trip to Burnaby Village Museum is on Thursday, December 6^th. We are so excited!!  Please:

• Ensure your child has a booster seat at school, clearly labelled with their name
• Ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. Most of the museum is outside. Students may have to stand in the rain. Warm clothes, boots and a raincoat are a must.
• Send your child a “pocket snack”. A snack that can fit in a coat pocket that can be eaten while touring the village is great.
• Send water and a lunch in their backpack with all the necessary cutlery.

After school pick up time will be the same. We plan to be back at the school by 2:30 pm.

Dear parent volunteers,

Thank you to all the parents that are able to bring us there and help supervise. In order to alleviate the congestion with the large number of students attending this field trip, leaving times and orientation times for classes will be staggered. Parent drivers, for our class, please arrive at the school at 9:55 am. We really appreciate your time.
