With Much Gratitude

| Posted in Class News

Dear families of Division 13,

This will be the last blog post you will receive from me. I would like to express my deepest gratitude for you and your part in supporting us last year. We had such a fantastic and memorable year together. Each one of your children AND you helped to contribute to our positive and caring classroom community. You have instilled in them many beautiful core values that will serve them well as they continue to develop in their life journey. Thank you for all of your generous time and effort in supporting at home, in the classroom, on field trips, and for your thoughtful gifts over the year.

As you have heard me mention time and time again, I felt so incredibly blessed to be your child’s teacher. There are too many things that I enjoyed and brought me real joy each day that I couldn’t possibly list them all here but please know from my heart to yours, that I absolutely loved coming to work each day…to see their smiles, receive their love and hugs, and to watch them grow. I feel so grateful. At the core of it was who your children were and how they learned together each day that brought us all joy.

On Monday morning, they will be leaving our classroom and entering into their new spaces with their new teachers. I am excited for them! They already have in them the right mindset, attitude about learning, and skillset to be successful there. On Friday, several students shared their feelings of nervousness, anxiousness, and fear about the unknown. These are all natural feelings because it is just that…”unknown” so I encouraged them to think about what they DO know.

They may have had similar feelings at the beginning of last year (and the year before that) when they walked into our classroom for the first time. They all know how to be Kitchener HAWKS (helpful, accepting, welcoming, kind, and safe). They all know they CAN make new friends and develop new friendships because they DID just that. I reminded them that when they continue to live each day like a HAWK(S), they will continue to thrive and build new relationships.

Thank you for taking the time to read these blog posts. I hope you enjoyed reading them as much as I enjoyed crafting them and sharing and celebrating all of their learning throughout the year.

I also told them that I will ALWAYS be their teacher and one of their biggest fans. Even though they have moved on to have a new teacher, they will forever be my student. They can come to me (and you as well!) when they need support. It will bring me joy to see them and you around the school. I wish them and you all well. Have a great start to another fantastic year! Love you all! ❤️

With a warm heart completely full of gratitude, Ms. Chan

P.S. On Monday, please drop off and pick up your child at the same doors as usual. Starting on Tuesday morning, they can line up with their new classmates. I miss them (and you) already! 🙂

I will be removing you as subscribers after this post is published.
