You might wonder what happens during literacy stations. We do them 3 times a week and it usually starts with a phonics lesson at the carpet. Then students go off to do different activities.

Kindergarten students right now are working on the letters of the alphabet (both upper and lower case) through a variety of hands on games and on fine motor skills such as making straight and curvy lines and printing upper and lower case letters.

Grade 1 students are working on their spelling packages that have a variety of activities with 5 sight words. When finished with those, they can play different hands on games that reinforce the sight words as well as games with a focus on phonics.
