The following clips are helpful to explain stress to school aged children. The first one is for children in the primary grades and the second one can be used for children in the intermediate grades.
Both stress and anxiety cause uncomfortable emotions that everyone experiences from time to time. It can be like an alarm bell ringing, yet there is no threat. Some of us experience it more than others. The key is to listen to our bodies to notice those uncomfortable emotions in order to manage them. We can use similar strategies to manage both stress and anxiety.
The symptoms of stress and anxiety can be similar, however the way we think about these are important.
