Welcome to our new class!!

We are settling into our class now.  Intake Interviews are happening this week.  We have a ProD day on Friday.  Our schedule is mostly set.

Next week we will get started on our routine activities: Jolly Phonics, Printing Books, Reading Groups, and Spelling / Daily Language (Grade Two’s).

Still Life – “Pommes” – in the style of Paul Cezanne

We read a story by Laurence Anholt called, “Cezanne and the Apple Boy” and learned a bit about Paul Cezanne’s life.  Students then used oil pastels to re-create one of his paintings through a directed drawing lesson.

The Caterpillars arrived 🐛

We have 32 caterpillars in their own little cup homes and 6 in their travel home = 38

Every Colour Has Value

As part of our study of the Elements of Art, we have been looking at ’value’ – lightness and darkness.

We experimented with our watercolour pallets and finger-painted some amazing pictures.
