After enjoying the story, Cinderella Penguin, by Janet Perlman, the students created their own characters from roll paper and construction paper.

Loopy Penguins
Students had fun creating these cute little penguins made from strips of black construction paper and white copy paper. A few students decided to turn their basic penguins into Rockhopper or Adelie Penguins 🐧
These are now on the bulletin board in our classroom.
Penguins On Ice
Students used “rainbow” coloured paints to create a background for their art. They then used construction paper to create their penguins and copy paper to create the icebergs.
Pringle, the Penguin Comes to Visit
A very cold package was delivered to us at school this afternoon! Inside the package was a letter from Admiral Drake explaining about the penguin (in the package).
The penguin’s name is Pringle. She arrived with a journal and a copy of Mr. Popper’s Penguins, written by Florence Atwater.
Pringle will be visiting each student’s home, with the journal, so they can make an entry about their experiences with Pringle. Students will share their entries each morning at Calendar time.
