LEARNING AT HOME

What do I do now?

It would be great if students could work on these learning activities each day, and I understand that this may be challenging. Please be gentle on yourselves and your children, I just ask that students try their best. These activities are done every morning in our classroom so students should be both familiar and comfortable working on them independently. It can be challenging to set-up a new routine, especially learning from home. A first step could be having students find a comfortable space where they can work.  I have also included an example of what learning at home could look like. This is optional, please do what works best for your family.

Please allow students Movement Breaks whenever necessary, as often as necessary
Play is extremely important for children during times of stress and uncertainty, please allow students to be kids and give them lots of playtime.
Here is an example of what “school” could look like at home:

SHAPE OF THE DAY

Journal                                               20 minutes

Editing                                                10 minutes

Math                                                    30 minutes

Reading                                              15 minutes

Bird Journal                                     15 minutes

Breathing                                           5 minutes

Music and Drawing                        5 minutes

Outside Walk or Movement        30 minutes

This is just an example, please do what works for you and your family.
