RETURN TO SCHOOL – MONDAY, JUNE 1st

Hello Division 8,

As you may have heard Edmonds will be opening on Monday, June 1st for students to return to class. This is completely optional and families are asked to make the best decision for their family. Students will not be penalized in any way if you decide to continuing learning at home. All students will complete their year and move on to the next grade. I have had some students quite worried about this.

If you are in grade 3 right now you will be in grade 4 in September.

If you are in grade 4 right now you will be in grade 5 in September.

If you are coming back to school it will be not the same as when you left for Spring Break, it will be different. Areas of the school may look different and our classroom will look different.  The school district, and Edmonds, will update you on most of these changes while other changes that are classroom specific you may not learn about until you return.

If your family has decided that you will be returning to school on Monday, June 1st it is extremely important that they let the school know. You can call the school at 604-296-9012, email Ms. Cappelletti, or Mrs. Postulo to let us know. We have a lot of work to do this week getting our school and the classrooms ready for returning students and it is important that we know exactly who is, and who isn’t, returning.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to inform the school. Your information allows us to keep students and staff safe.

STAYING CONNECTED

Hello Division 8,

If you haven’t had a chance yet to check out Microsoft Teams with a parent or guardian, try and find some time this week. Teams provides you the opportunity to talk to our friends from class, share funny  jokes and riddles, participate in Circle Time, and write our journals online. We have about half of our class on Teams right now and it would be great to see our whole class.

Announcements will be made through email, our class website, and on Teams. If you aren’t on Teams you will still receive important information.

Our class website is meant to be a ‘home base‘ where you can access links, resources, fun activity ideas, as well as our calm music and fireplace.

Our class Team  is meant to be a place to connect with each other,  chat, share a laugh or photos of fun things we’ve been up to. If you are having any trouble signing up for Microsoft Teams click here to watch a helpful tutorial video Ms. Van Poele created for Divisions 1-3.
