Overview for the Year
As Artists, students have been using their learning and knowledge across all subject areas to show their artistry.
The Big Ideas that we are focusing on this year are:
- Through art making, one’s sense of identity and community continually evolves.
- Experiencing art challenges our point of view and expands our understanding of others.
- Dance, drama, music, and visual arts are each unique languages for creating and communicating.
- Engaging in the arts develops people’s ability to understand and express complex ideas.
As Artists, students are bringing their ideas and skills to all subject areas. This term, students completed their Food Truck design and build. As well, we had a directed Orca drawing workshop with Gordan Dick an Indigenous Artist who works with the North Vancouver School District. Students used art in their French Summer Poster assignment as well.
