Some Fun Things To Share!

Hi Everyone,

We’ve had a busy January and already we are heading to our first long weekend since the winter break. Hope you all have a lovely time on Family Day!  What did you do over the long weekend?  Please do tell!

Here are some photos of you in January and February so far.  These are of your cute Buddy Venn Diagrams done with our Grade 3 buddies and then in this album you will find pictures of your lovely dream catchers, you doing a Science Lab, pattern block designs in math, sniffing mystery scents in canisters for a MIND UP lesson, and your Valentine pictures you made with your kindergarten buddies.  Can’t wait for the guide book to come out! Please comment on any of these activities I’ve just mentioned.  What did you learn in Science and Mind Up lately?

Vases and Blossoms

imageYour beautiful vases and blossoms are ready to be added to your portfolios.  It was wonderful having them adorning the wall outside our classroom this term.  The cherry blossoms have long since fallen from the trees outside  and summer is just around the corner.  Click on each photo and the individual photos will enlarge, so you can see them better.

Painted Bottles

Dear Class,

Your creativity really showed in your painted wine bottles.  They are simply beautiful.  I am sure your moms loved receiving them.  I like how unique all the bottles look and how colorful they are.  Here are the photos of you at work and your lovely end products!  What did your moms say?

Gung Hay Fat Choy!

new yearsHappy Chinese New Year!  The boys and girls had fun creating beautiful scrolls and fun, positive fortunes to put in their hanging fortune cookies.  May the year of the Horse be a wonderful one for all!  Here are some photos of their artwork.  Also some cute pictures of them on our last day of school before our winter break.

Remembrance Day!

IMG_0658Today, November 11, is an important day.  Hope you all remembered to do a minute of silence to honour and remember all the soldiers who have died to protect our country and who fought in wars to help others in need of protection.  We appreciate and respect all the soldiers today who continue to fight and protect.  After having a good conversation about war the students brainstormed words together that described the “darkness” and “lightness” of war.  They created beautiful poppies to depict this, which is now available to be seen in the Art Gallery Page above.

Fall Nights Artwork

IMG_0570I just wanted to let you know that Division 4’s Fall Nights paintings are up and can be viewed on the Art Gallery Page.  They worked hard getting it done and gained more experience using different sized brushes and strokes to complete their paintings.  The dark blue sky was created with swirly strokes to suggest movement.  Hope you like them!

Artwork

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you know I posted your pictures of your stunning fall landscapes for you to share with your families.  You can view them on the Art Gallery page.  I hope your families will enjoy seeing your work on our blog, since we haven’t been sending your artwork home.  Please let your parents know that you have started collecting your artwork and some writing pieces, which you are compiling into a memory book.  Your book is like an invitation to your readers to come to a “Thinking Party”.  It will be completed and taken home at the end of the school year.  I am hoping you will treasure your work and keep it for many years to come, so you can remember what you were like when you were in Grade 4 or 5.  : )
