Welcome!

welcomes

Dear Students & Parents,

I am very excited to introduce you to our classroom blog! Blogging is a skill that I would like my students to learn, especially as a “21st Century” learner. Helping them to become more “tech savvy” is very important in today’s world. Student blogging is powerful, enriching, and stimulating. This is just another interesting and motivating avenue for them to express themselves and to learn: from sharing their artwork, to responding to stories/novels read either as a class, in groups (literature circles) or independently, to providing feedback and comments and to accessing links to educational sites.

Certainly, there are always concerns regarding misuse of the blog. As a teacher and “manager” of this blog, I will be monitoring all comments that are posted and will only allow appropriate comments to be displayed (comments do not automatically post. I receive an e-mail notification that there has been a comment.) Also, there are strict guidelines to follow, which you can read on the Guidelines page of our blog. Please review these with your child. For privacy issues, I will ask students to not share last names when they post comments or respond to questions I have asked.  Students will be given their own personal login name and password they can use to post on our blog.  I am hoping both parents and students will enjoy interacting on our blog by posting comments.

Please visit our  blog from time to time or ask your child if I have posted up anything new.   It is a great place to see what your child  has been doing in school and to hear their thoughts.   I am hoping it will be a positive experience for all!

Sincerely,

Ms. Gabas

    1. Hi Cole,
Glad you like having this class blog! Now that you have your passwords I will be much more motivated to update it more often than last term, since now I know more of you will be visiting it. Keep visiting the blog and enjoy the photos. Please share them with your friends and family.

    1. Hi David!!! Do you have anything to share? Hope so! Let us know what you’ve been doing? What do you enjoy most about being at home? What has been difficult?
