Division 1 Learners of 2021-2022: Blog is now up-to-date!

Hello community of division 1,

Welcome to our updated blog for the 2021-2022 school year!

The Division 1 learners have been getting a crash course in Microsoft Office 365 throughout the term. In their investigations they have been learning to carefully curate their Digital Learning Portfolios in Microsoft OneNote. All of their assignments, projects, and work can be accessed through Microsoft Teams from personal electronic devices that have access to WIFI.

Places to find out more information about what is happening at Inman Elementary in the Division 1 classroom:

  • Microsoft Teams
    • has the most recent and frequent updates with more details about the Division 1 Learners’ learning responsibilities
      • includes project guidelines, criteria, links, snapshots of lessons, multimedia for curricular investigations and learning in class
      • also includes due dates and important reminders for our class community
      • where all major projects and assignments will be submitted and returned with feedback/ proficiency scale assessments
      • from here, students and families have the ability to access many of the the other apps that we use (e.g. OneNote-Class Notebook & Student Notebook, Sharepoint- file storage for our class, etc.)
    • to access Teams, you must use your child’s educational account
      • username: [studentnumber]@edu.burnabyschools.ca
      • password: [accessible by talking to your child or by contacting your classroom teacher]
  • this blog spot: “Inman 2021-2022 | Grade 6 & 7 Learning with Ms. Derksen”
    • this will be the place to check for:
      • monthly newsletters (hopefully penned by grade 6 & 7 authors, in the future)
      • reporting procedures and for general curricular overviews per term
      • links to helpful resources or sources of information

If you have any questions about accessing any of this information, ask your child for assistance! All Division 1 Learners are steadily becoming more and more proficient in using the Microsoft Office 365 suite. If you are still running into difficulties or have any questions, please reach out to me through my district email.

Thanks for stopping by,

Ms. D
