Let’s Go to the Symphony…Virtually!

Hello Awesome Music Students!

Wouldn’t it have been great to go on a field trip to see the Vancouver Symphony this year? Well guess what…we can! The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra has decided to post online their Beethoven Concert.  This was recorded in March, before social distancing was put into place. Please play the video below and make sure you click to full screen and turn up the volume on your device.

Wow! What a beautiful performance.  Do you know the difference between a composer and a conductor? The composer of this song is Ludwig Van Beethoven, of course. We have been studying his music this year to celebrate 250 years since he was born. The conductor in the video is not Beethoven. His name is Maestro Otto Tausk and he works with the Vancouver Symphony. Do you know who Miss Vaesen’s favourite conductor of all time is? To find out click on the video below:

Name that conductor in the comments below and also guess Miss Vaesen’s favourite composer of all time. Then check back tomorrow to find out!
