As we learn to read more books, sometimes we like to ask ourselves questions that can help us understand stories and what we have read.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself:

FICTION

Before reading:

  1. Read the title – What do you think the story will be about?
  2. Why did you choose this book? Did you like the cover picture? Did you like the title?
  3. Do a picture walk of your book – Make a prediction about how you think the story will end.

After reading:

  1. Can you summarize the story? What happened at the beginning, middle, and end?
  2. Did you like the story? Why or why not?
  3. Who was your favourite character?
  4. If you could change the ending to the story, what would you change?
