Hello everyone,

Today, we started off with handing back of the Math quizzes. I took up some of the questions and explained some of the common mistakes. I told students that this is a really good resource for studying for the unit test and that they should review their corrections. Then, I had Grade 5’s practice questions with a partner that they came up with to work on  their mistakes from the quiz, while I taught the Grade 4’s. We did a lesson on adding 4-digit numbers, which was fairly basic and the kids seemed to be familiar with this already. Then, I worked with the Grade 5’s on a lesson about benchmarks and finding the closest thousand, hundred, and ten through rounding to make easier numbers.

The students worked on:

Grade 4: pgs. 57-58 #1, 2, 4-7

Grade 5: pgs. 55-56 #1-7, 9

It is homework if not done.

After that, we had snack and then the kids went to Music. Then, we went outside for DPA. When we came back in, we went to the library, where Ms. Z showed the students a lot of good research resources to help them with learning about various topics.

After lunch, we sketched out our Art designs onto pieces of paper and then did our Daily 5 stations. I read  more with the Yellow group  today. The book is so funny!

At the very end of the day, we worked more on drawing our designs onto our shirts/t-shirts/pieces of clothing we brought in. Then, the students worked a bit on their Drama pieces.

Also, a reminder that the French Test is tomorrow. Students need to know months, numbers 1-10, and colours (how to write them).

Have a good night!

Sincerely,

Ms. Wilks
