Hello Everyone!

Just a reminder that there is no school tomorrow, it is a district PRO-D Day!

Today, we started off with silent reading and then I read a bit of “Wonder” to the class. Then, we had our first school assembly of the school year, where we watched some performances and Mr. Wall introduced all of the staff at our school this year.

Then, we did a quick MadLibs story and had snack and went outside for DPA.

When we came inside, we had the French Test. After, we were given the chance to “vote” in the pod as one of the other classes is running a mock election with ballot boxes.

When we returned, we painted our Halloween pinatas and then worked on our pop art, inspired by Andy Warhol until lunch.

After lunch, students had community time.

At the very end of the day, Mrs. Peddie came in and did a writing lesson with the students where we talked about different kinds of reading responses and particularly focused on making connections. Then, the students started writing paragraphs on connections they made based on the books we are reading in guided reading.

They have a weekend journal that is due Monday: “If you could be anyone else for a day, who would you be? Why? Explain what you would do that day?

As well, the students also have their Social Studies project due on Wednesday, so they should be working on that this weekend if they are not close to done.

Have a lovely weekend!

Sincerely,

Ms. Wilks
