Last Friday (February 7th) we had a great afternoon doing Olympic themed jumping events in the gym with our buddies from Division 2.  It was a lot of fun!

Thank you to all who submitted donations for the Heart and Stroke Foundation – either on-line or by cash/cheque donations returned to the school.  I have tallied all the results and it looks like we have beaten our record from last year.  I will announce the final results once the Heart and Stroke Foundation has confirmed the totals.

I was very impressed by how many students in our class participated in fundraising – and also by the amounts raised!!

The forms should be picked up by our representative by next week and, once they are tallied, the prizes will then be sent to me for distribution.

As you know, from the earlier notice, we are having our annual Lunar New Year luncheon on Friday.

Please remember that your children should bring their own utensils and bowls.

Also, we are looking for one or two parents to help out with setting up the food and helping to serve the students in our room.  If you are interested in helping us out please let me know.

Students will be presenting this poem at our assembly.  Thank you for helping your child practise this poem at home.

We will be making our houses next Tuesday afternoon.  Please ensure that you have sent in the items on the letter sent home last week.  The items need to be at school no later than Monday morning in order for everything to be set up and ready for Tuesday.

Just a reminder that the class is walking to McGill Library on Tuesday, November 5th – next week!  Please remember to send your child’s library card – and any Public Library books, for return – on that day.

It was a very busy and fun day!!!  I hope you all had a good Hallowe’en night!

Today we joined our big buddies in a school-wide pumpkin carving activity.  Even though some students – but clearly not all – were a bit squeamish about touching the insides of a pumpkin, a good time was had by all!

The seeds were collected and will be washed, roasted, and given to classes to eat tomorrow.

A huge thank you to the parents who came out to help with this event.
