Purpose: To design and conduct a survey which will provide useful data about a target audience.
Important steps:
Identify your audience
The question and choices need to suit your audience’s age, interests, abilities and other important factors.
Design your survey
The question must be clear. Keep it simple.
Provide a variety of responses to choose from. Avoid “Other” or “All of the above” responses.
Conduct your survey
Show the question and choices.
Give clear instructions… You may vote only once, etc.
Count carefully and record student’s choices (data) on your tally sheet.
Analyze your data
Determine the percentage for each choice.
Display the data on a suitable graph.
Make conclusions. What does the data show? How can it be used?
