Here are a few reminders and updates as there have been a lot of notices sent home lately.
Science World Field Trip (Yellow form):
Our field trip is this Thursday April 23. Volunteers have been contacted and will arrive at Suncrest at the same time as the students to help us get organized, meet their groups and go over the day. An updated schedule will be provided to volunteers on Thursday morning.
Your child will need to wear:
- Closed Toed Shoes (runners/ sneakers)
- Bright Colours or Suncrest Clothing (easy to spot)
- Bring a ball/ cap or a rain coat (dress for the weather)
You child will need in their backpack:
- Snack
- Water Bottle
- Lunch
**Please refrain from bringing toys or money for this field trip**
Burnaby Village Museum (At school experience/ Blue form):
Thank you to families who have already paid for this experience. It is my first time trying out this workshop and I am excited that the Burnaby Village Museum can come to us. My sister, who is also a teacher and works at Clinton Elementary in Burnaby has done this program and her staff recommended the program for us to try as we are a similar age group.
I have already connected with Ms. Boleak to see which families still need to pay and hand forms in for this experience. School Cash closes tomorrow and I will connect with families through email tomorrow for forms and payment that need to be completed. I need to drop off the cheque by the end of this week at the museum.
Student Led Conferences on May 7 (Pink form):
Student Led Conference forms went home last Friday and are due Friday April 24.
Student Led Conferences are from 2:15-6pm and we will have an early dismissal on May 7 at 2pm. This fifteen minute buffer allows me to set the classroom up for a 2:15pm start. We are very flexible with times and we will have a similar layout to our previous portfolio shares with some stations to visit with your child within our classroom.
I will be sending home a slip for each student to take home confirming your time. If I receive all forms this week I will send out confirmation slips on Friday April 24 in your child’s planner.
