Term 3:
Big Idea:

What learning may look like:
- Observing natural and man-made objects in your neighbourhood and community
- Exploring what has stayed the same/changed over time
- Mapping
- Recognizing Earth Day: Exploring your ecological footprint, and how you can make changes to take care of the community and environment
- Exploring symbols of Canada and different parts of Canada
- Exploring Indigenous animals in Canada
Term 2:
Big Idea:
- We shape the local environment, and the local environment shapes who we are and how we live
We will learn:
- characteristics of the local community that provide organization and meet the needs of the community
- natural and human-made features of the local environment
- needs and wants
We will also learn about the tree that we planted in Africa as part of our school-wide project. Our class planted a baobab. It will be fun learning about it by reading stories and thinking how about different ways people and animals can benefit from it.
