HAPPY FATHER’S DAY

Father’s Day is a great day to spend time with your father.  Although my family doesn’t really celebrate any holidays, even Father’s or Mother’s Day, this year I still did something special for my father.
Although this year was quite different from others, it did stop me from making my dad a gift, I noticed when I was short on supplies because I didn’t have any at home to make the gift, I eventually found replacements for some of the items. So, what gift did I make? I made a quite fascinating bag that looked like a tie with candy in it, I also tried making a pull-out card for my dad, which was great because now I know how to make these things.
I just want to say, HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!

Father’s Day

Father’s Day just felt just as another day as family time, but in ways it’s different and special. Even if it’s a simple day or a special day it’s always different and that’s what makes it unique. My father is usually always busy with work trying to support his family, I mean anything for family right? We try and make our family happy, have fun, just trying and live life to the fullest, and that’s what I’m guessing my father is trying to do. Father’s Day is the day where you can thank your father or “father” figure for how much time and effort they put in making you happy.

This is how I was able to use my strengths to contribute to my family. I was able to create a little pocket thing that was shaped as a tie filled with these tiny chocolates that you could bring to work as a sweet boost. To create that you would have to sew the plastic bag that you cut out like a tie, which to me was hard because you needed it to be the shape like you paper cut out and also the sewing. I also made a card that had a acrostic poem inside and it also ended with a question “What about me makes you proud?” My father went out early in the morning for work so we just made brunch for him with his favorite food such as bacon. The brunch consisted of rice, egg, bacon, sliced up apples and cucumbers which to my surprise was pretty simple, but also tasted delicious.

We can have the most simple meal on earth, but what makes it really special are the people around you or who you share it with. Yes, something might be hard to do like for me making the gift and cooking, but at the end of the day it was all worth it. You can see all your hard work paying off as you can tell how happy the person is. All I want is for my father to be happy on Father’s Day.

Here’s what I created for Father’s Day as a gift.

ooops… we can’t figure out how to add a pic… Is a pic even allowed!?

Father's Day Gift

A Time to Recognize Fathers

Father’s Day was Sunday, June 21, 2020

Father’s Day is a relatively modern holiday. Different families have a range of traditions. These can range from a simple phone call or greetings card to large parties honouring all of the ‘father’ figures in a particular extended family.

Father figures can include:

  • fathers
  • step-fathers
  • fathers-in-law
  • grandfathers and great-grandfathers, and
  • even other male relatives

Some students do not have a father at home.  Some mothers fill in as a father-figure. And some families have another male person who is a caregiver to you.

STUDENT VOICE

The people who make up our families love and care for us. Mother’s Day, Father’s Day,  Grandparents Day, and Family Day are special days in which we show our appreciation for the wonderful people in our families.

“This is how I was able to use my strengths to contribute to my family.”
