I hope you enjoyed our sunny weekend. Many people had to be satisfied with honouring their mothers from a distance. Whether via online video, the telephone, a card in the mail or a hug at home, I hope you found an opportunity to pay tribute to the mothers and grandmothers in your life. (Maybe you even read them a poem or wrote one of your own!) I would love to read your comments on anything notable about your Mother’s Day weekend (perhaps you’d even share some poetry‽)

Our Mondays always started with Purposeful Play, so I’d like us to spend Monday trying out some games. Choose from the games found through the links below, and whatever you choose, tell how it went or how you did; what you liked (or didn’t) & what was challenging (or wasn’t). Even perhaps include a screenshot.

Choose from 23 online games here

Or

More that 30 other games (including classics like Yahtzee, Dominoes, Snakes & Ladders and more).

These links and other notes about latest and ongoing projects can be found here. I will be looking forward to sharing something new at our regular Tuesday online class circle. In the mean time, play on!

  1. I had fun on mothers day! Hope you did too. I went to my cousins back yard, and had a social distancing mothers day party. Since I hadn’t seen my family for so long, I had so much fun. See you tomorrow at the meeting!

    • I confess, I am guilty of envy. False Creek must have been fabulous (to say nothing of getting to be outdoors for a great day with your mom and the rest of your family).

  2. For my game I played yahtzee. I have always liked the game and it is really fun.
But something I dont like about the game is you will be really close to gettinga yahtzee and you get all excited but then you dont get one.

    • Ah yes, there are those exhilarating moments when we seem to be able to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, yet it does seem to happen much more often that just as we anticipate the celebratory exclamation: yaHt…, it can all come crashing down. Farkle! (or insert your favourite appropriate-for-school emphatic expression here.)

  3. Hello
I had a lot of fun on Mother’s day. Me and my sister made a whole lot of juice and we had to taste test a lot.And my dad and mom went to go get food from a greek restaurant but me and my sister had pizza instead because i don’t like greek food and my sister does not like it either. In the morning my dad made breakfast freachtoast and turkey bacon.I am going to call these Mother’s day the BEST MOTHERS DAY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • French toast, Greek food, pizza… sounds like a pretty good day right there. Add the chance to have the family together and celebrate mothers and you have one very, very good day indeed!
