Ms. C. Smith and Ms. Huckle’s class worked very hard to design anti-bullying shirts for Pink Shirt Day!
Mrs. Taylor-Gibbs invited us outside with her class to learn about grandmother tree. We talked about all he different animals the Grandmother tree is home for, and we looked at the ferns and moss that grow on Grandmother tree.
Mrs. Taylor-Gibbs class was wonderful big buddies helping us learn. We hope to be going out with her class again soon!
Today was our second day with Celia. She is helping us to understand the importance of being mindful and having calm bodies.
We played a game, read a story, practiced breathing to calm our bodies down!

Today we started our discussion on light. Where does light come from? How would our lives be different if we didn’t have windows?

We made our very own stained glass windows!
Celia has graciously offered her time to come in and work with our class on mindfulness. She is excited to teach us all the importance of having healthy minds and bodies!

We are learning to keep our environment clean from garbage and recycling. One way to do is to reuse old materials for Art. Here you can see we used old dryer sheets to make winter art.
It is wonderful to see how all the art pieces look a little bit different even though everyone was given the same materials to work with.

Today we welcomed Dylan, from the SFU basketball team, to be our guest speaker for literacy week.
Ms. Taylor-Gibbs came in to help us make cedar paint brushes. We discussed many different ways Indigenous People used cedar trees in their every day lives.
Close your eyes, and listen, what do you hear?
We made a rain storm using our hands and feet. Can you hear the storm getting worse and then slow down again?
