Once again we were lucky enough to have the Leadership students from Alpha come to our classroom and this time they brought a Gingerbread House STEM Challenge! In groups of 3 or 4 we were challenged to create a gingerbread structure! Each group came up with a Team Name and we had a SWEET time! Some groups aimed for a taller structure, some went more house style and some went with whatever they could do to get the gingerbread to stay standing! These students demonstrated creativity, perseverance, collaboration, cooperation, kindness, support for each other and lots of laughs and joy! It was a fantastic experience! We then reflected on the activity and overall most students were proud of what they had accomplished and even if the structure did not work out as they had planned…..it still tasted yummy!!
