Hello students, I have uploaded the video that we are learning our dance from. I flipped the video around so that you are now mirroring the woman in the video, just like you would mirror me in class. If she sticks out her left leg, you stick out your right.
Remember : your fan is always in your RIGHT hand, unlike these dancers who are mirroring you so their fan is int heir left hand.
you always start with your RIGHT foot,
you always turn to the RIGHT for your cha cha cha, then come back the way you came to form a half circle.
Good afternoon students! I have created another read aloud story for you to enjoy, and another staff lesson that includes the use of ledger lines. If you are one of the students that downloaded and handed in all the sheets from the previous staff lesson, you will have already had a glimpse of labelling notes that are outside of the staff. Here’s what I would like to you to do for this assignment:
Watch the link provided below called “Crater Island Staff Lesson”. You must watch this video to get some clues as to what I am asking you to search for in the read aloud.
Watch the read aloud video below of “The Secret of Crater Island”, and see if you van find the three BRAND NEW NOTES that are labelled in the book.
Once you’ve found the three BRAND NEW NOTES (I’ll give you a hint; they are OUTSIDE the staff) draw me a staff (including the five lines and the treble clef) with the three new notes shown and labelled and decorated (just like you have been doing for the previous two videos).
Hello primary students! Please watch my new staff lesson video below 🙂
Below is a link to the page on Music play online that lets you practice all the things you have learned in this lesson and the previous Freddie the Frog lesson. There is also some songs that help you learn about the staff!
2.) Practice note naming and drawing the staff lines in musicplay online – or use the PDF to practice. (Click on the link
3.) As you’ll hear in my video, the lines of the staff are remembered by the words Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge. The first letter of each word tells us the name of the note on that line. Can you come up with your own phrase to help you remember the lines on the staff? Let me give you an example. I’ll use my own name since it fits! Elaine Griffiths Bakes Desserts Fast! What can you come up with?
Hi students! A couple of weeks back I interviewed my Dad about his recorder collection – if you haven’t watched the interview already, you should! It’s here on my blog. While he was sampling the different recorders he played a song called the “Skye Boat Song”, and I mentioned that I would post the music for my recorder students. I also made a video of myself singing and playing the song. I had a little fun trying out a new app called “Acapella”. The link to the video is below the picture!
I recorded this in my study at home, no microphone or editing done so it’s a bit rough, but I thought it would be fun to share with you and encourage you to try! The words to the song appear in the bottom of the screen as I sing it. I have also made a Muse Score file with the notes for recorder, the words for singing, and the chords for playing Ukulele (or guitar). The blue/green words are link to a PDF, and I’ve included a screenshot below.
Hi everyone:) Watch the video assigned to your class for instructions on how to your first assignment, the Music Happiness Project for all Intermediate classes.
Good morning students! Here’s a couple of new videos from me 🙂 The first video is a hello and thank you, and gives you instruction on your suggested activity.
The next video is a read aloud of a story that introduces Freddie the Frog and Treble Clef island!
Lastly, here are the colouring pages I mention in the first video. If you are able to print these out and colour them in, that is one option. If you are not able to print them out, create your own! All you need to do is draw a five line staff (you’ll know what that is after you watch the video) show me where on the staff the place you’ve chosen exists, and then draw me a picture of it! If you need some ideas to get you started, check out the pages below! If you are able to take a picture of your drawing/colouring and send it to me, I’d be most grateful 🙂
