Hello Corovoce singers!

We had a marvelous first practice!  We got to know each other a bit, and even got to sing a bit!  The Team is so excited to see where we will go this year!  At our next rehearsal we will work on the two songs we presented on Thursday, (Clap Your Hands, Rejoice, and Count Your Blessings) and present two new songs as well!  Here are a few reminders:

1.  Please bring a cheque made out to the Burnaby School Board, or cash, or pay online as soon as you are able.
2. Bring your registration form with you as well if you have not already done so.
3. Drop off your child by the outside door of Room 201.
4. We end promptly at 5:15, please be there to pick up your child.
5. Soon we will be posting the songs on the blog for your to rehearse with at home!  Stay tuned!
6. We are working in the next few weeks to update the subscribers list.  Please feel free to unsubscribe if you are receiving this and are no longer in choir.

We hope you’ve saved the date of Monday, December 9 for our Christmas Concert at Michael J Fox!

Hello Everyone!

We are having trouble with this post, so my apologies if you’re received it twice.  Some people did not receive the first one, or only a partial first one.

We look forward to seeing you this Thursday, September 19 at 3:30 at South Slope Elementary (4446 Watling St.)  Please head in through the front doors, and turn left to go to the gym.  We will begin in the gym on Thursday, but future rehearsals will be held in room 201.  Please have your registration form completed as carefully as possible!  Your email address is crucial, so print clearly!  Online payment can be made through online cash, going in through the District tab.   Please pay under the Corovoce heading! We will also accept cash and cheques made out to the Burnaby School Board.

We are asking that at our next rehearsal, you drop your child off at the outside door to the music room.  We will be giving a tour to the students so they will know where to go!  

As mentioned before, we will dismiss promptly at 5:15.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone this Thursday!  Please email Mrs. Fierro at teresa.jukich@burnabyschools.ca if you have any questions!

Hello Coro Voce Members!

 

It’s been an exciting few months since our last concert.  Ms. Speakman has had her retirement party and Ms. Pritchard is now a grandmom to a beautiful baby boy!  Congratulations to all!

We now welcome onboard next September:

Ms. Patti Fletcher as co-director!

Ms. Bonnie Ishii as accompanist!

Ms. Sheila Little as co-manager!

Ms. Minichiello and I are grateful to our Burnaby colleagues for sharing their love of singing and expertise with us!

Our new rehearsal site for next year is SOUTH SLOPE ELEMENTARY.  4446 Watling St.  In the music room 201.

Rather than assume you’re returning, we’re asking that you send an email to Mrs. Fierro (Jukich) if you ARE returning!

Happy Easter Weekend Everyone!  After a wonderful concert on Wednesday evening, and a very inspiring Tour day Thursday, I’m sure you were ready for a break!

Our final rehearsal is this Thursday from 3:30 to 5:15.  Parents are invited to stay! Here is the shape of the time:

3:30 – warm up in the music room.

4:00 –  performance in the multi purpose area of Moscrop.

4:30 – cookies and juice reception for choir and parents.

Some parents have asked if they can bring some sweets to share.  Please email me if you are bringing some treats so I don’t buy too much! And, nut-free treats are best.

Dear CoroVoce Parents!

We need someone (or two) to hand out complimentary tickets for special guests and sell any remaining tickets we may have at the theatre on Wednesday. 

You will need to be at the theatre at 6:00 p.m., but we will give you the opportunity to save your seats beforehand!  What a deal!  Please reply to Mrs. Fierro asap!

We have quite a few members who have not handed in their consent form for the school tour next Thursday.  Please make sure you return the green form Wednesday at the concert, or Thursday morning before you board the bus! ( or we will be waving good-bye to you from the bus!)

Remember to pack a nut-free lunch and snack with your water bottle!  We will begin and end our tour at Cascades.  Please be in the music room  at Cascades by 8:30 a.m.  The tour will end with our performance at Cascades at 2:45 so you’re welcome to pick up then!

Your child will be bringing a hard copy of this letter home today from rehearsal!  Please make sure you read it through!  And consent forms for the tour date need to be brought to us by next Wednesday at our concert, or a scanned handwritten note sent to my email before next Thursday!
