Collaboration:
Sevish – Midnight Cascade
In Midnight Cascade, Sevish employs just intonation in tuning their instruments.
A just intonation tuning system is any tuning system that attempts to tune musical intervals as whole-number ratios. Such whole number ratios appear naturally in almost all sounds as the harmonic series, and when sounded, no beating is heard. That being said, attempting to create rigid tuning systems using the rules of the harmonic series doesn’t work as one would first expect, as music commonly requires more notes than just one harmonic series can provide. As such, just intonation tuning systems frequently sound just as, if not more, out of tune than standard twelve-tone equal temperament. However, if one is using a scale-free instrument like a trombone, voice, or any instrument of the violin family, they would naturally be inclined to play in what is called adaptive just intonation, which is basically what all just intonation tuning systems attempt to emulate.

Bon Iver – iMi
This beautiful song is composed with many dissonances. In the intro, the vocal with the tremolo effects is pretty impressive. There are so many transitions and changes that might confuse the listeners, but that builds up the complexity of the songs.
Nathanie – Sunscreen
This song is beautiful, the chord progression mixed with the sweetness of her voice is perfect. She also did an amazing job balancing out the harmonies, they are just the right amount and it makes it so calming to listen too. Theres also a really faint percussion that sounds like a wood block that sounds amazing.
Muse – Stockholm Syndrome
Matt Bellamy really outdid himself on this one, the guitar is so freakishly good and the way his voice is so haunting and smooth it fits amazingly with this song. I really like the contrast between the tension in the rough guitar and the release with the light piano and high harmony background vocals (1:08). I highly recommend listening to this song all the way through because I truly think this is one of Muse’s best songs.
Efralot – Dare To Believe
Simple piano, drums, acoustic guitar in some parts. The beat it some what repetitive, with a nice harmony through the song. Especially at 1:20.
Penny Lane – The Beatles
I love this piece, it has a very smooth melody with repetitive beat through some of the songs and has harmony. At 1:13 theres a nice bridge were It’s just high vocals with trumpets which fits perfectly with the song.
Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door
In this music piece, they kept it simple with basically just the drums and electric guitar carrying. At 1:15 it goes a lower tone than raises to a higher tone and that happens throughout the song.
