Jai Paul – Jasmine

This song starts with highly compressed bass line. Vocal used multiple effects(chorus, reverb and filter) and various ambience sounds in the background.

LAMP – Ame Furu Yoru No Mukou

This song is pretty exotic to the western people; however the chord progression is beautiful with many tension chords. One more thing to mention about this song is almost every part has a multiple vocal chorus tracks, so there is no empty spot in this song. Very well structured chord progression and the unique vocal is impressive.

Bon Iver – iMi

This beautiful song is composed with many dissonances. In the intro, the vocal with the tremolo effects is pretty impressive. There are so many transitions and changes that might confuse the listeners, but that builds up the complexity of the songs.

KAYTRANADA – Midsection ft. Pharrell Williams

This song has an African vibe drum beat that makes exciting mood. There are two major parts in this song, one is pretty obvious trap music part and another thing is gospel-like singing part. In between those two parts, there is a sudden change which sounds a little bit awkward, but that weird transition makes this song unique and fresh.

Yves Tumor – Gospel For A New Century

This song is pretty cool song. There is a break in the intro, increasing the tension of the song. Another factor that makes this song cool is that the dynamic differ throughout the song. For example song continues with chill vibe in the intro and verse but then it explodes with hard crash drums when it reaches to the chorus.

Nathanie – Sunscreen

This song is beautiful, the chord progression mixed with the sweetness of her voice is perfect. She also did an amazing job balancing out the harmonies, they are just the right amount and it makes it so calming to listen too.  Theres also a really faint percussion that sounds like a wood block that sounds amazing.

Tom Waits – Rain Dogs

This song has a really cool accordion intro that I was not expecting, then goes straight into this sea shanty vibe with the repetition in the guitar melodies and tambourine.  I also really like the raspiness in his voice, it fits really well with the song.
