Week of May 11th – 15th

Week of May 11th – 15th

Division 5,

We have another fun week ahead of us!

At the end of last week, Zoom invitations were sent out.  You would have received three invitations.  One math group and two read aloud sessions.  Please email me if you have not received the invitations, or the math time I have given you does not work with your schedule.

Last week, we had our first round of math zoom lessons on Geometry.  We will continue with lesson 2 in Geometry this week.  Also, we will have an art lesson this week on how to make your own playdough.  The playdough will be used for lesson 3 Geometry (next week).  Modelling clay will also work for the lesson if you have any.  We will be concluding our unit on Matter.  Next week, we will start our new science unit on Energy.

I’d like to thank Ms. Araujo for being our guest reader last week.  We will continue to have Ms. Araujo as our weekly Thursday guest reader.

Next week, I’m hoping we can start weekly class meetings.  More details to follow.

Some of you have started your ADST lessons.  If you haven’t yet, please check out the ADST page. Families, I encourage you to watch the slide shows with your child.

Thank you for submitting all your beautiful artwork, poetry, and writing.  I have compiled some of your work in a couple of collages.  Also, I have created a slide show compilation to celebrate our learning!

Check these out!

Ms. Fierro is also looking for your music reflections and recorder videos.  You can submit them directly to her.  Her email is Teresa.Jukich@burnabyschools.ca

To show your work, you will need to post it on your BlogFolio.  If you are posting photos or videos, it is best to use your portable devices (smartphones, tablets, or iPads).  If you forgot how to post, you can check out these instructions. I will check your posts regularly and comment on them.  If you need more help with how to post or log on to the programs, ask your family to email me at Shirley.cheung@burnabyschools.ca

Happy Learning!
