Spelling

Division 5,

We will continue with spelling in the upcoming days. We will continue to use lessons from the Words Their Way program by Pearson Publisher.

I will post weekly spelling words and lessons here.

The activities will be a bit different from what we have been doing in the classroom. There will be some small adjustments.

This is what you will do:

Get a pencil, paper, scissors
Cut the paper in small rectangles
Copy the words from your colour group and word list.
Solo Sort: Sort the word cards in the groups like the table I’ve made in the weekly handout (do this everyday)
Practice printing each word 3-5 times repeatedly (do this 1-2 times a week)
Look up what a word means if you don’t know. Use this link: https://goservice.prod.micro.scholastic.com/dictionary/sfx/AHSD/lookup/AHSD/
Spell Ten (find someone to give you a mini spelling test)
Writing Sort (get a piece of paper and copy the writing sort, and write 3-5 sentences using the spelling words)
Spelling Test (Find someone to give you a spelling test, include the challenge words)
Post: At the end of the week, take pictures of your writing sort and spelling test results and post it on your BlogFolio
