Dear Parents,

Today, we started off with talking about how to write down the link for the websites we are using for our research for Social Studies. We went through an example on the projector and writing down the link and not just ‘Safari’ or ‘Google.’ Then, we edited a paragraph to practice using our editing checklist skills – noting where punctuation is missing and capital letters in particular.

After, we learned about Lesson 2 of Unit 2 of the Math Textbook and talked about the symbols: >, <, and =. We also talked about how to arrange numbers from greatest to least and least to greatest and to double check that they are ordering numbers the correct way. Students were assigned for work and homework if they are not done: pages 39-41 #1-7, 9-12 due tomorrow.

After, we had snack and recess. Following recess, we did our Math FSA and students who were done, worked on their Autobiography paragraph writing sections #2 and #5 and creating their timeline.

Following lunch, we talked about some social issues that were happening outside on the playground and reflecting on our own actions. We talked about how to be safe and friendly outside on the playground.

Then, we talked about connecting words and using words such as but, and, yet, so, because to combine two sentences together to avoid incomplete sentences and sentence fragments. Students have a sheet for homework on using connecting words and separating sentences into smaller parts using periods due tomorrow.

At the end of the day, we had free time for DPA inside and we worked on our Starry Night Artwork.

Have a good night!

Sincerely,

Ms. Wilks
