Dear Parents,

Today, we started with our Social Studies Quiz on provinces and territories. I marked it when the kids were in Music today and will be posting them on Fresh Grade for you to see tonight. Many students did really well on it! When students were done, they worked on their Paragraph of the week and had snack.

Then, students had Music and recess.

After recess, we did a Math lesson. We talked about writing multiplication and division statements for arrays (groups of arranged objects) and how to reverse equations between division and multiplication. Students worked on page 24 #1-4, 6 and it is homework if students are not done. I gave a challenge to students who finished early in Patterning. Just a reminder, that the Math Unit 1 test is on Tuesday! We will be reviewing the content for the test tomorrow.

Following Math, I was so excited to introduce beginner coding in Python to the students! We are using a program called Code Combat! Students get to code a hero to complete quests and avoid enemies and obstacles. It’s a great resource! Students are not to play it at home in the meantime because there’s a limited amount of levels and I would like them to complete it in class since it is such a limited amount. Students can access more free coding on Hour of Code if they would like to at home.

After lunch, we did more FSA practice for Literacy and then we had DPA and library.

Crayon Art is due tomorrow if not done!

Sincerely,

Ms. Wilks
