P.E. Tuesdays – 9:00 – 9:40 with Mrs. Talib . It is important that students wear running shoes (an extra pair can be left at school in a bag on a hook in the cloakroom) and clothing that they can be physically active in – no dresses or skirts on gym days please.
Planners – at 11:00 daily. Students write a message in their planners each day for parent information about things upcoming in the class or school – notices will be placed in the plastic front pocket. It is an important part of the “Personal Planning” curriculum to teach the importance of communication, responsibility, and organization. Please read these notes with your child each day, sign your initials so I know that you have read it, and ensure that your child returns the planner to school each day. You may also communicate with me as well by putting a note in the front pocket. Please do not write on the student sections of the planner as that is where the students record their messages.
Reading Groups – Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:20-10:25. Students in the class are divided into four literacy groups, according to ability, for instruction in Reading.
Library Visits ** to be determined
Students will be allowed to sign out one book per week, initially. Later on, they should be allowed to sign out two books. These books can come back to school any day up to the next day’s visit. Please help your child remember to return their books each week. Our librarian is Mrs. Buchanan.
Music –Mondays from 2:20 – 3:00 and Wednesdays from 11:30-12:00. REMINDER: STUDENTS WILL BE DISMISSED FROM THE GYM BY MR. STOFFBERG ON MONDAYS.

Reading Recovery –This is a one-to-one reading intervention programme targeted at struggling Grade One students. Mrs. Koebel will be working with students in our class, and Ms. Errico’s, each term. If your child is selected for this program you will be contacted individually.
Computer Lab – Our computer time is on Tuesdays from 9:50-10:25. We will begin our lessons shortly. If you haven’t done so already, please send in headphones for your child to keep and use at school. I will write your child’s numerical Username and their Password on the front page of their Planners (so they want to access the school site from home), once I get them from the Office.
