Seton Villa and Forest Walks

Our first Forest Walk was a beautiful day with Ms. Ballarin’s class. It was so nice to see our classes connect with each other. We felt the winter coldness as we saw our own breath and we observed the changing colour of leaves as they were falling to the ground. Ms. B read us a beautiful book on different types of trees as we listened in a circle.

We had our second visit to Seton Villa on Friday, November 8th.  Once again the residents were so happy to see the kids and the smiles on everyone’s faces were so great to see! They made paper poppies and had great conversations!

We are so lucky to be partnering with Seton Villa for monthly visits with their residents. Our class will walk to Seton once a month and the students will talk with the residents and do a themed craft with them. This is such a wonderful opportunity for our students to get out into the community and give back to our seniors.

Last Friday was our first visit and the residents were delighted to see all the smiling faces. Their faces lit up during their conversations and while they did the art together. The residents surprised our kids with a generous bag of goodies for Halloween.
