Dairyland Presentation

Dairyland Presentation

Here are some of the pictures of the Dairyland presentation that we saw today.  What did you think of the presentation?  I was completely surprised by how many litres of milk a cow can produce in one day.  Thirty-two litres a day is a lot of milk!  What did you learn from the presentation?  Do you have any questions?

  1. The Dairyland presentation was very interesting. I was interested in the vacuum for the cows utter that could produce so much milk in just seconds.

  2. I wonder if the cows get bored because they spend at least 7 hours a day hacking up food and breaking it down to smaller pieces? And anyways all they do is stand around and get milked for hours!

  3. The presentation was great but the problem was that the sun was shining directly in my face and I couldn’t see it as well but the good thing is that I`ve seen that presentation already but not in a long time.

  4. The Dairyland presentation was so cool. I really enjoyed how they milked them. I find it is crazy how the milking machine milked so much milk in just seconds.

  5. My aunt has a farm in Abbotsford and she has a whole bunch of cows that she has at the P.N.E. Every year and me and my mom and dad go watch them sell it every year.

  6. The cows from Dairy Land are big and fun they do a lot of work all day it likes like the stomach has the utter. Wow the sure have a lot of work.

  7. I really liked the Dairyland presentation. I agree with you Mrs.Mann. I was also surprised about how much litres of milk a cow could produce. I never knew that a baby calf would be full grown at two years old. Humans aren’t full grown at two years old. I also enjoyed learning about what the cows eat, their bone structure, and how when they eat their food it passes through all their four stomachs . I learned that a cow will spit up their food and chew it over and over again through out the day.

  8. This presentation reminds me of farm animals and cows in a big farm I know have to be milked by machines to be fast enough. One machine can milk 40 cows at once, as they have over 300 cows in their farm, it wouldn’t be fast enough to have the cows milked by hand.

I really enjoyed the presentation and the information they gave out.

  9. Yes Michael M. I agree with you. Animals has always been my all time favorite! I really like dogs and there relitives but tigers and birds are also my favorite so I just say I don’t have one if someone does ask me. I even say wolves because they are in the dog family and they are one of my all time favorite out of the wild dog family.
