Helping Hands for Hunger

Dear Families,

We are organizing a Helping Hands for Hunger food drive and collecting non-perishable food items (unopened, not expired) to support families in our community.  This initiative is part of our Social Studies unit on global issues, where students are exploring different global issues, including food insecurity and the power of community action. Through this project, we hope to empower our young leaders to make a meaningful impact locally.
As part of this initiative, student leaders will be visiting classrooms to share information about the food drive, as well as share information on the morning announcements to encourage school-wide participation.
We invite all Brentwood Park students, families, and staff to donate non-perishable food items:
Examples of non-perishable items include:
  • Canned soups, canned fruits, and canned vegetables
  • Dried beans, lentils, pasta, and rice
  • Cereals, crackers, and other packaged snacks
  • Sauces, jams, honey, and other spreads
  • Baby food and formula
Please ensure all items are unopened and not expired. We kindly ask that you check expiry dates before donating.
Thank you so much for your support and kindness.
Ms. Bianca Lavorata
