Hi everyone! I’ve got a few reminders/updates for everyone.
Our Heritage Fair went very well last week. We had tons of great posters showing lots of great research on Canadian history. The finalists from our class are: Arielle, Moana, Jasmine & Andrea! Congratulations!
We are still fundraising for Camp Elphinstone and running a freezie sale next week for the whole school. Once this is done we should have a final cost for the 2nd payment for camp. Camp runs from June 10 to 12th and we leave from Aubrey at 8am on the 10th. We will return by 3pm on the 12th.
This Friday we will be going on a hike to Burnaby Mountain! Please ensure everyone has layers as it’s still brisk in the mornings and we’ll be outside all day.
Also, student-led conferences are coming up on May 1st! Please come any time between 2 and 4pm and contact me if you’d like an alternate time. Our grade 7s have been invited to see Clue – a play put on at Alpha. These students will return to school around 3pm, so if you’re planning on attending the student led conference, please plan to come after 3pm with your child.
Lastly, we’ve got two projects coming up that may involve some parent assistance to acquire materials. We’ve got our annual business fair (now slime-free!) and an ancient artifact project which requires students to make a model of an important historical artifact. Students should be able to explain these, but feel free to ask me any questions!.
