Division 10 read Pete the Cat Saves Christmas by Eric Litman. This book is about how Santa falls ill on the night before Christmas and calls on Pete the Cat to deliver all the presents. Pete shows that giving your all in the spirit of Christmas is the totally groovy thing to do. Here are some pictures of our favorite parts of the book:

Division 10 read the book Kitten’s First full Moon by Kevin Henkes. It is the story of a kitten that thinks the moon looks like a bowl of milk. Then we did a science experiment.
Supplies: Milk, Pie Tin, Detergent, Food Coloring, Q-tip.
Steps: Fill the pie tin with enough milk to completely cover the bottom. Add several different colors of food coloring to the center of the pie plate, Dip a Q-Tip in dishwashing detergent and then touch the Q-Tip to the center of the pie plate.

Here’s what we learned: Milk has vitamins, minerals, protein and fat. Mixing detergent with milk causes a chemical reaction to occur. The soap molecules race around the milk trying to catch up with the fat molecules.
