Ocean Silhouettes – Ms Gourlay's Class

Ocean Silhouettes

| Posted in Learning

The children created these beautiful ocean silhouettes.  First, they used chalk pastels to do the background.  They used different colours to simulate the sun shining on the top of the water and getting progressively darker toward the bottom. Then, they traced the shapes of different ocean animals on black paper and cut them out. Please notice their careful cutting skills.

The children also used the loose parts to make an ocean scape.  Then, they wrote about their scene. Ask your child to describe his/her picture.

Wow! Great cutting skills, Div. 11!
I love their ocean scapes. Brayden said he liked making the animals swim together!
