Division !0 read a book called Rotten Pumpkin: A Rotten Tale in 15 Voices by David Schwartz and Dwight Kuhn.  This is possible the most disgusting book ever . . . and we loved it.   It is the story of what happens to a pumpkin once it starts to rot.  We learned a lot about how organisms like fungi, bacteria, molds and insects help to decompose pumpkins and recycle them back into the earth.  The pictures are fantastic and really gross.

Then we started looking at Jack the class pumpkin with our magnifying glasses.  We tried to identify some of the things that we saw in the book.  Here we are at work.
