Our Public Library

Posted by on May 1, 2020

“By reading with your child, you also help cultivate a lasting love of reading. Reading for pleasure can help prevent conditions such as stress, depression and dementia.” (University of Liverpool)

I know our Community Libraries are closed to the public, but they are still offering the following services:

Get a library card over the phone: Call  604-436-5400 Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. No ID needed.

Get information by phone or email: Want to know how to borrow e-books? What community help is available? Where to learn about something? Call the library at 604-436-5400 or email eref@bpl.bc.ca.

The library has English books you can borrow from home and read on a screen, including picture books that are perfect for Kindergarten kids and audio books the whole family can enjoy.

Library To Go

There are good options for stories online, any time.

Online Stories

Anyone who wants e-book suggestions for kids can call or email the library or look at these lists by grade.

EBooks

In my search, I also found this link to some wonderful Indigenous Story Books.

Thanks To Tina Lee from the McGill Branch for this information.
