Our first week back to school from Spring Break was very busy.
We started the week with a mystery! Someone left a very precious gift in our story garden while we were on Spring Break. We came back to school to discover fairy houses and magical characters spread out in our garden! Mrs. Brolin’s class came over and together we looked for clues to try and find out who left us this magical gift! We drew our theories and shared them with each other. We are still stumped! Even Ms Allanson and Mrs Brolin do not have any solid leads on who shared such a kindness with us! If you have any thoughts about this mystery, please leave a comment below!

On Wednesday, we were excited to welcome back our Biggest Buddies from Alpha Secondary. They shared a story and helped us create kindness chains with ideas about how to fill each other’s “bucket” and spread kindness in our community!
Next, we headed to Beecher Creek to discover if Spring has arrived in our favourite little forest. To help us look closely for signs of Spring, we went on a special scavenger hunt!
Back in the classroom we practiced drawing like a scientist, looking closely at some treasures from Ms Allanson’s garden. We also have begun to explore how simple graphs can help us organize data, such as when we vote on classroom choices. Pixie the fairy has also left us a mystery “pixie fairy” egg. We are waiting patiently to discover what will hatch out of the egg. Do you have any guesses?
We ended the week back in the garden with our Big Buddies. It is the time of year to start planting seeds and preparing the garden beds to grow another crop of yummy vegetables!
Throughout the week we have also been watching a live stream of an Eagle’s nest in White Rock! There are two eggs in the nest, and we have been fascinated watching how the Mom and Dad Eagle work together to care for the eggs. We hope to be able to see the eggs hatch in the coming weeks.
