Celebrating Valentine’s Day

Dear Parents, Guardians, and other Division 3 Adults!

While it might seem very far away still Valentine’s Day is almost among us!

Valentine’s Day is one of my favourite holidays, entirely because it’s something bright and cheerful in the middle of a cold, dark winter!

I would like to be able to celebrate with the kids this year.  I feel we will all need a little extra joy come February 14th.

My plan in order to keep everyone safe is:

  1. Have the students decorate their own empty goodie bags that are clearly labelled with their names.
  2. A few days before we celebrate have the students hand out the treats into the goodie bags
  3. I will then put those away in my cupboard to quarantine until we celebrate
  4. Once they have quarantined for the appropriate amount of time I will hand the goodie bags back out
  5. We can go through the bags and see what fun things are inside
  6. Finish by watching a fun movie in the afternoon

Things for you to know:

  1. We will need all goodie bag items by Monday February 8th
  2. Items will quarantine until Thursday February 11th when we will have our Valentine’s Day Party
  3. If you are bringing treats for you child to hand out, in order for it to be fair there should be something for everyone
    1. There are 24 students in the class, 2 EAs and myself
  4. PLEASE DO NOT BRING FOOD OR CANDY, if you want to bring something other than cards, please bring little goodies such as stickers, pencils, erasers, bubbles, etc.

I wanted to give lots of notice so you can brainstorm, and get organized with lots of time, and very little stress!

Thanks!

Ms. Wilson
