~ We celebrated National Indigenous People’s Day with Division 7.
Ms. Tsumori hosted us one last time and shared some delicious tea containing dandelion leaf, yarrow and stinging nettle, plants you have been learning are very important to the Indigenous people of BC. It was such a treat and most found it really yummy! We drank it while learning about the shíshálh Nation and then created beaded bookmarks around a theme of acceptance, honour and VALUING DIVERSITY.

Imagine the Possibilities! Summer Reading Club

Registration for the Imagine the Possibilities! Reading Club starts today, Friday, June 21st, at all Burnaby Public Library branches!
Reading for fun helps kids discover books, and regular reading over the summer helps them maintain or improve their skills. Every club member who reads, or is read to, for 50 days earns this year’s Summer Reading Club medal! Read anywhere, any time, and anything!

THINK MATH ~ 32 ~ Final One!

Thank you to all the students who created questions to our Think Math answer last week:
The answer is 17 Sports Day stations.
There were 0 teachers doing Sports Day stations so there were 17 kids doing Sports Day stations for them. How many in all? ~ Lawrence
There were 16 teachers, including Ms. Watt doing Sports Day stations, but they were missing a station so they called Ms. Park to help. How many in all? ~ Lawrence
There were 8 Sports Day stations. 9 more teachers came. How many in all? ~ Lawrence
There were 14 teachers doing Sports Day stations. There were too many kids so 3 substitutes came to help. How many in all? ~ Lawrence
There were 7 Sports Day stations. Then it turned into rain so 10 more Sports Day stations were inside. How many in all? ~ Lawrence
There were 16 teachers doing Sports Day stations. Too many kids were waiting so they called Ms. Watt from home sick to come help. How many in all? ~ Lawrence
There were 4 Sports Day stations. 6 more teachgers came and 7 TTOCs cam to help. How many in all? ~ Lawrence

Way to go Grade 3s! What an awesome year of Think Math questions. I’ve had so much fun reading all the different questions from all of you!

Suncrest Park Field Trip

Tomorrow is our big end of the year all day field trip to Suncresk Water Park!
Suncrest Park has a playground, a large field and sprays for water play.
Each child is welcome to bring whatever they’d like to the park to entertain them for the day, not including money, valuables, squirt or water guns. Whatever they bring, they are responsible for it’s safe return home.

Each child should arrive in the morning, dressed in his/her swimsuit with sunscreen applied and his/her clothes over top. Everyone should wear comfortable sandals that are suitable for walking and water play and bring these items:

large towel
hat
sunscreen
healthy lunch & recess snack (reusable containers please)
2 drinks (plastic bottles only, please)
large plastic bag for wet towels, clothes, etc.
knapsack in which to carry everything

We will be leaving Nelson at 9:30am and returning to school at ~2:00pm.

~ We worked on memory squares, drawing a picture of our favourite memory of the school year. Ms. Watt will put them together in a QUILT to hang up in her classroom.
